If you are experiencing problems with the Music feature, perform one or more of the following steps:

Step one:If you receive an error that no servers can be found when you choose the Music & Photos option from TiVo Central, go to My DVR Cannot Find My Music and Photos Server (Macintosh).

Step two:If one of your songs sounds distorted or is cut off, try playing the song using iTunes on your Mac to ensure that the source file is not corrupted.

Step three:If your music pauses during playback, it may be due to network congestion. For information on optimizing your network setup, see General Network Troubleshooting Tips.

Step four:If one song (or series of songs) repeats continuously and you do not want it to, ensure your Repeat setting is set to Off.

Go to TiVo Central by pressing the TiVo button on your remote control. Select Music & Photos, then the name of your Music server, then the name of your folder and song or playlist. Highlight Options and press Select. Highlight Repeat and change the option to Off. Select Play Music with these options.

Step five:If one song repeats continuously, and you have already turned the Repeat option off, you may have a song with the same title twice in your playlist. This can cause the same song to play repeatedly. You can resume normal playback by selecting another song and playing it. To prevent duplicate song titles, open iTunes to view your playlists. Find the songs with the same names in your playlist. Rename the items in the playlist so that none of the songs have the same exact name.

Step six:If you are using iTunes 4, verify you are not using the AAC music format. TiVo Desktop is not compatible with AAC format.

To determine the format type from the iTunes File menu, click Get Info.

Step seven note

Music from the Apple Music Store is stored in AAC format. You can change the ripping preferences of iTunes 4 to use MP3 format when CDs are ripped. We are working on supporting the AAC music format, but do not have a current definitive timeline of when it will be available for our TiVo Series2 subscribers.
